01 / THE PROJECT

The space
between the notes.

Two saxophones, guitars and double bass. A quartet without drums, exploring jazz through dialogue, detail and instrumental colour.

Silent began as a trio in the corridors of the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Navarra. Marcelo Escrich, Luis Giménez and Alberto Arteta recorded Charlie Haden Songbook (2016), a tribute to the American double bassist’s musical world.

With the arrival of Mikel Andueza, the group becomes a quartet. Written music and improvisation meet in a sound connecting jazz, tango and counterpoint. The project was selected for JazzEñe 2024 at San Sebastián’s Jazzaldia festival.
